There are different filling materials available. Traditionally used is the silver amalgam filling. However, its use has been discontinued over the years owing to its toxicity. Its use has been replaced by tooth colored filling materials, namely Glass Ionomer Cement and Composite. Composite is the material of choice in majority instances. It is available in different shades that match with your natural tooth color.
